Our Different Materials
Depending on the type of external door or opening chosen, various materials can be selected from for the frame and panel. For our French doors, tilt and slide patio models, and lift and slide doors, the full range is available; customers can choose between uPVC, aluminium, wood, uPVC aluminium, and aluminium clad wood. For our other products, such as front doors, there is then a choice between uPVC, wood, and aluminium, for example.
When it comes to deciding between materials, it’s important to remember that no single option is necessarily better than another; each brings its own unique benefits and will alter design and performance in specific ways that are better suited to certain projects than others.
Modern and sleek, uPVC is particularly affordable and low maintenance, for example. It also provides excellent thermal insulation thanks to the multiple chambers inside its core. While timber, on the other hand, requires a little more upkeep, it brings unparalleled charm thanks to bespoke hardwood oak, spruce, meranti, or other grain patterns. Natural sturdiness and soundproofing are further benefits. For those after enhanced protection, aluminium or cladded variants then impress thanks to their strength, durability, and impact resistance, which provide excellent security as well as a very effective ability to withstand wear and tear from the elements.
