Picture Perfect Views with More Natural Light

Fixed windows are the ideal way to expand your views and maximise natural light. They are typically installed in out of reach areas like transoms and where opening isn't necessary such as for glass in doors or in panoramic windows. They offer the ability to create incredibly large, exposed views as there is no need to accommodate an opening mechanism nor concern with sash weight. Their stationary nature also improves thermal insulation, noise reduction and security giving them all round excellent performance.

Whether as part of a home's facade, in offices or commercial buildings, fixed non-operable windows offer many advantages in both price and performance and excel in areas with a high demand for natural sunlight. Benefits include:

Fixed windows are a great design choice for living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms where light and views are more important than ventilation and the ability to open. If you would still like an option for ventilation, you can easily pair a casement window on one or both sides or even a tilt-only transom.

Thermal Insulation

All of our windows come with a minimum of double glazing. However, since fixed windows already benefit from their simplicity and inability to open, adding triple glazing can boost the U-values to even passive house levels. This is particularly advisable for large windows which have greater potential for heat loss.

In the summer months, however, large glass surfaces can potentially heat up the room. Therefore, based on your climate and the window's location, you may consider low-e glass.

This special coating reflects infrared energy (i.e. heat) which can help let light in but not heat. Low-e glass can be employed to both reflect heat inwards and retain heat or instead to reflect heat outwards to prevent solar heat gain (e.g. in warm climates).

Sound and Fire Protection

Multi pane glazing is not just important for thermal insulation. Thick glass inserts and multiple spaces between individual panes also insulate against external noise. PVB foil, gas filling or cast resin panes are all available to further enhance noise reduction along with our several levels of decibel reducing glass.

Fire protection is an essential factor as well. Fixed components with special fire prevention glazing are reliable solution for building owners while not visually different from a standard window. Although their prices are slightly higher, fire protection properties are highly important features for modern construction elements.
